Just a quick note. MP3tunes.com rocks! I haven’t played with it much but I managed to find 2 albums that I want to buy in 15 minutes.
High quality music with no DRM for less than iTunes. This is going to be a not-so-guilty pleasure.

Something New
I received not one but two interesting emails recently in response to posts I’ve written. I’m taking it as a sign that I’m growing as a blogger to the point where readers may actually want to talk back to me. So I’m opening comments here. We’ll see how it goes.

open source = more cops
LA city councilman says open source = more cops, or more teachers, or actual librarians. All cities and organizations need more money and proprietary solutions can be an unnecessary drain.
Not to say you should use all open-source all of the time. But often it is just as good or better than the far more expensive proprietary alternatives.

This is what we’ve been afraid of since the copyright mess started. It’s never been about preserving the rights of the artists. It’s the profit margins of corporations versus the best interest of the public.
