Comments for Creative Librarian

The Creative Librarian is a hub for matters important to librarians/information scientists of today. There is a definite lean towards electronic issues, however it isn't restricted to only those. Hopefully this site will also be useful for informing non-librarians on these issues as so many of them affect us all.

It appears to depend on whether a discounted book is used for promotional purposes or whether it is the "end all" to the product. Publishers want there to be a distinction between the two but it's not that obvious to the consumer.

I agree with this and I think the result will be we librarians have to move off ILS and onto developing our own projects. The ILS may no longer be applicable in the Web 2.0 world, but librarian skills are needed more than ever. Let's not lament the lack of vision by ILS vendors. let's create our own killer apps.

         Thanks- John Iliff in Philadelphia

I recently did a presentation on blogs and wikis, and the one thing that went off in my head like a lightbulb while adding content to libsuccess is the table of contents layout. I think this approach makes the content much more easy to maneuver through than the traditional structure that many websites have incorporated.

Hello
I'm a MLIS student in Denver, and would like to post a link to this article on the newlib list. As you can imagine, this has been an ongoing discussion. Aside from our next project, it's probably foremost in our minds.
Thanks, and keep writing.
