Electronic Librarianship Primer
A request for useful online resources for electronic librarians returned a good list. The requestor was kind enough to post a summary and to allow me post it here. All html, including links, was done by me. If there is a mistake, please let me know. All of the content is as he wrote it, his contact information is at the bottom.
Hi all, I received a number of helpful responses to my inquiry about
journals, conferences, associations, and listservs useful to Electronic Resources Librarians. I also received a couple requests to share what I learned, so here it is.
Magazines/Journals:
- Computers in Libraries was by far the most often mentioned.
- Information Today was also cited by
several folks. - Others mentioned were Online;
- E-Content;
- Searcher;
- JASIS;
- InformationWeek;

- as well as “all the PC mags.”

- and Internet Librarian
were the most mentioned specialty conferences; - several folks also mentioned their state library association meetings.
- Other conferences mentioned were Information Today,
- LITA Annual Forum,
- ACRL,
- the National Online Meeting,
- and CALI.
Associations:
LITA was most mentioned, along with ALA, SLA,
and the various state library associations.
Lists/blogs:
- I got a huge list of these sources, each mentioned only once except for Gary Price’s ResourceShelf, which was listed twice (including a message from Gary!).
- Others mentioned were ERIL,

- LISNews,
- DIGIREF,
- newslib,
- LII New This Week,
