creativelibrarian.com

The Creative Librarian is a hub for matters important to librarians/information scientists of today. There is a definite lean towards electronic issues, however it isn't restricted to only those. Hopefully this site will also be useful for informing non-librarians on these issues as so many of them affect us all.

open source = more cops

LA city councilman says open source = more cops, or more teachers, or actual librarians. All cities and organizations need more money and proprietary solutions can be an unnecessary drain.

Not to say you should use all open-source all of the time. But often it is just as good or better than the far more expensive proprietary alternatives.
